Manchester - Captain Wayne Rooney, Michael Carrick and Phil Jones all missed training on Wednesday ahead of Manchester United's Europa League clash with Saint-Etienne on Thursday.
United, who are unbeaten in their last 16 Premier League games, welcome the French side to Old Trafford for the first-leg of their last 32 tie.
England internationals Rooney, Carrick and Jones were the most conspicuous absentees from the 23-man squad at United's Aon Training Complex west of Manchester.
Jones has not played since sustaining a foot injury in United's recent 0-0 draw with Hull City, but Rooney and Carrick were both on the bench for last Saturday's 2-0 win over Watford.
United manager Jose Mourinho is due to address the media later on Wednesday.
Kick off is at 22:05.
