Ronaldo trolls Messi in El Clasico win

Cape Town - Cristiano Ronaldo trolled Lionel Messi's iconic goal celebration after scoring Real Madrid's second goal in a 3-1 first-leg Spanish Super Cup win.

Ronaldo, who was introduced as a substitute on the hour mark, finished a breathtaking counter attack after cutting in on his right foot to unleash a thunderous effort to silence the Camp Nou.

The Portuguese captain struck his trademark shirtless pose, then seemed to mock Messi by holding up his shirt to the crowd as Messi did at the Santiago Bernabau.

The 32-year-old was at the heart of the action  despite only appearing as a second-half substitute, scoring a sensational goal and being controversially sent off.

Messi's penalty had cancelled out Gerard Pique's own goal early in the second-half to give Madrid the lead.

Ronaldo then curled into the top corner 10 minutes from time, but was booked for taking his shirt off in celebration.

And that proved costly two minutes later when he saw a second yellow card after being adjudged to have dived when trying to win a penalty.

Despite their numerical disadvantage, Madrid extended their lead late on when Marco Asensio fired home in style from the edge of the box.

The two sides meet again in the second leg on Wednesday.
