Real Madrid arrange hasty press conference

Madrid - Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is expected to discuss the crisis prompted by a humiliating loss to Barcelona in the Spanish league this weekend.

The club said the president will talk to the media at a hastily scheduled news conference on Monday, two days after the 4-0 defeat to Barcelona prompted widespread calls for his resignation and for the departure of coach Rafa Benitez.

Perez will be making his first public comments since Saturday's game at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, when fans loudly jeered the president and Benitez during and after the match.

It was Madrid's second consecutive loss in the Spanish league, leaving it six points behind Barcelona after 12 rounds.
