Liverpool looking to lure Subotic?

Cape Town - Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic looks to be on the verge of leaving Signal Iduna Park after he was granted leave to discuss personal terms with another club.

Subotic's unhappiness at losing his starting place and falling down the pecking order under Thomas Tuchel last season is well documented and culminated last week when he announced his intention to find first-team football elsewhere.

Despite the fact BVB have already sold Mats Hummels to Bayern Munich during the current transfer window, they still seem happy for Subotic to find a new club, even allowing him leave from training to negotiate with interested parties.

"Neven Subotic was given the day off in order to negotiate with a potential new club," Dortmund announced on their official Twitter account.

The 27-year-old centre-back has over 250 appearances in all competitions for the club since joining from Mainz in 2008, but started just five Bundesliga matches last season, causing him to search for greener pastures.

While the specific club he is speaking to was not mentioned, Subotic has been heavily linked with a move to England and the Premier League, especially Liverpool where he would be reunited with former boss Jurgen Klopp, while FC Koln have also expressed an interest if he decides he would prefer to stay in Germany.
