Hart gutted over miserable off-season

Cape Town - Goalkeeper Joe Hart insists he has put a difficult period behind him after earning the plaudits for a stunning save on international duty with England.

Hart experienced a galling couple of months for both club and country after conceding soft goals against both Wales and Iceland at Euro 2016, and then being sent on loan to Italian side Torino by new Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

However, the 29-year-old was England's man of the match during their World Cup qualifying goalless draw in Slovenia in midweek after producing a string of saves, including a jaw-dropping stop to keep out Jasmin Kurtic's header.

Hart said: "The summer was difficult. I am gutted about how it went, but it has gone now. Football moves quickly.

"I've done the same when I've won leagues.

"You have got to move on. And you have got to keep fighting. I will continue to keep fighting for my country. I cherish every moment I play and long may that continue.

"I would have loved to have saved the two shots (against Wales and Iceland) that I should have saved, but they are gone. I have moved on. I am going to try to rectify that by being in a good place.

"As a goalkeeper, you can't chase situations... You have got to let the ball come to you as a keeper. I am trying to grow and I am trying to improve every single day."
