French star Guendouzi rules out Morocco switch

Cape Town - Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi says it is his dream to play for France after being courted by Morocco.

The 19-year-old French born former Lorient midfielder has partial Moroccan heritage and is said to be a target for the Atlas Lions.

His impressive displays for the Gunners have not gone unnoticed by Morocco manager Herve Renard, but Guendouzi is determined to play for the country of his birth, and the World Champions.

Having represented France at every age-group, the young star made his first appearances for the Under-21s during the current international break.

Guendouzi told Canal+: "Since I was young, I've always played with the French teams, it's a dream to play with France A.

"And I'm hoping to get there, it's a dream for me. to make it happen."
