France to face Scotland, Cameroon in Euro 2016 warm-up

Paris - France have lined up friendlies with Cameroon and Scotland in the two weeks before the nation hosts Euro 2016, their football federation said on Monday.

The Indomitable Lions, one of five African qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup, will take on Didier Deschamps' charges at Nantes on May 30, while Scotland, who failed to make the 24-team 2016 continental finals, await les Blues at Metz on June 4.

Another non-Euro qualified team, the Netherlands, are already due to face France in Amsterdam March 25 while Russia visit the Stade de France on March 29.

The tournament will be held across 10 French cities for a month from June 10 to July 10

France are drawn in Group A with their opening match against Romania on June 10 in Stade de France, followed by Albania on June 15 in Marseille and Switzerland on June 19 in Lille.

Deschamps, who won Euro 2000 as captain of the France team, has organised a pre-Euro training camp from May 17-21 at a luxury hotel on the Basque coast where the squad can train at the facilities of Biarritz rugby club.

They will then fly off for five days altitude training at Innsbruck Austria from May 31-June 4.
