Cape Town - Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez is hoping to raise his team’s spirits with a win in Wednesday’s League Cup clash with Nottingham Forest.
The Magpies are looking to bounce back from Premier League defeats to Tottenham and Huddersfield Town when they face the Championship side at St James’ Park.
"If we win, I will be happy. The main difference is what the players do on the pitch," Benitez said.
"It's because we didn't win, that's it. If you win, everyone is happy. If you lose, everyone is not happy. When you lose, you have to be upset. Hopefully we can change that."
The Spanish coach is looking forward to the end of the transfer window, which he hopes will make his life easier.
"September 1 will change everything, simple," he added. "If you have your team, your squad, it will be easier for me to get a message across. It will be closed and okay, fine, we have to go."
