Cape Town - Three Banyana Banyana players have been named in the Africa Women's Cup of Nations (AWCON) team of the tournament.
Janine Van Wyk, Jermaine Seoposenwe and Nothando Vilakazi are the three South Africans selected in the tournament's best XI - despite losing to eventual AWCON winners Nigeria in the semi-final.
Coach Desiree Ellis' charges then went onto lose the third place playoff 1-0 to Ghana at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde.
Despite their loss in the bronze playoff, Banyana jumped up four places in the FIFA world rankings and are currently sitting in 48th position.
