Madrid - Real Madrid have moved to within one point of Spanish leaders Barcelona on Sunday with a 9-1 destruction of lowly Granada, with Cristiano Ronaldo banging in five goals.
The 2014 world player destroyed Granada with a hat-trick within the space of eight minutes into the first half - after Gareth Bale had given whites the lead.
Ronaldo scored two more in the second half, the same as Karim Benzema.
Real's other goal was an own goal from Granada defender Diego Mainz.
Robert Ibanez put away a late consolation goal for Granada, who are second from bottom.
The win left Real just one point behind leaders Barcelona, who were due to visit midtable Celta Vigo later Sunday.
