Real sign "the new Roberto Carlos"

Cape Town - Real Madrid have completed the transfer of highly rated Brazilian teenager who pundits believe will become "the new Roberto Carlos".

The Daily Mail have confirmed that Abner Felipe Souza de Almeida, or Abner as he is known, has completed his transfer to Real Madrid.

The young Brazlian defender joins the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez at Real Madrid after joining from Brazilian side Coritiba on a free transfer.

Abner will initially join Real Madrid's reserve side Castilla on a loan before trying to fight for a starting spot with countryman Marcelo.

Italian giants Roma had been tracking the player until the defender suffered a cruciate ligament tear.

The left-back has been quickly dubbed 'the new Roberto Carlos' following his move to the La Liga giants.
