Cape Town - Colombia head coach Jose Pekerman has backed Juan Cuadrado to shine at a major club like Barcelona, who are reportedly interested in the full-back.
Cuadrado's stock is set to rise after an impressive campaign for Los Cafeteros at the World Cup which is currently underway in Brazil.
He is currently on the books of Serie A outfit Fiorentina, who bought all of his transfer rights from Udinese earlier this year.
That has not calmed speculation over his future however, with Barca reportedly joined by Bayern Munich as some of the player's admirers.
Pekerman told a press conference in Brazil that he is confident the 26-year-old would thrive at top club where expectations are higher than at Viola.
"He's a player with great physical conditioning who achieved great things with his club," the Colombia coach said.
"Just as he has done with his country, and he is ready to go to a great club, regardless of how well he does at the World Cup.
"It's satisfying to have him with Colombia and for sure he will go on to grace the most important pitches in football, and more if he goes to a great club like Barca."
