PSG slapped with fan ban

Paris - Paris Saint-Germain fans have been banned from attending their club's next league game at Bastia because of the risk of violence between hooligans.

Three seasons ago, Bastia supporters threw projectiles at the bus carrying PSG players to the stadium before clashing with police forces following the game. Clashes before and after a weekend match in Corsica between Bastia and Marseille in August last year left 44 police officers injured.

PSG says the top government official in Corsica has issued a stadium ban for all PSG supporters ahead of Saturday's game. PSG fans also won't be allowed to gather near the stadium.

Police forces are on alert across France following the terror attack on a newspaper office that claimed a dozen lives on Wednesday.
