Cape Town - Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke insists that Los Rojiblancos will put in a professional performance against Barcelona, even if winning would hand the title to Real Madrid.
Barca currently hold a two-point lead over Los Blancos at the top of La Liga, with three games left to play. One of those is against Atleti at Vicente Calderon on May 16th.
Atleti are third, four points above Valencia, and it had been suggested that if they had automatic Champions League qualification in the bag by the time Barca come to town, they would put in a half-hearted performance to see the trophy head to Catalonia instead of across the capital.
"We're professionals and we will try to win," Koke insisted to AS.
"We've always done that and we wouldn't turn up otherwise. It's always nice to beat Barca, one of the best in the world.
"We're upset by that talk because we're professionals. We have our pride and a lot to play for too.
"We have three games left and the first final against Levante on Sunday. Madrid play Valencia and we'll be watching, but in the end we depend on ourselves and, if we win the three games we have left, we'll be third."
