Neymar's recovery 'going well'

Barcelona have reported that injured striker Neymar is making a good progress as he begins his recovery after suffering a fractured vertebra.

The 22-year-old picked up the injury during Brazil's World Cup quarter-final victory over Colombia last week, ending his participation in the event.

The forward has returned home to rest and recuperate, and it was here that he was examined by Barcelona doctors.

"FC Barcelona’s Medical Services visited Neymar Jr at the player’s home in Brazil this week. The Club’s Medical Services confirmed the CBF’s diagnosis that Neymar had fractured the L3 vertebrae in his back," the Catalan outfit said in a statement.

"The CBF and Barça’s Medical Services are in agreement on the type of treatment the player will undergo in his recovery process.

"The player is recovering well and he’ll continue his recovery in Barcelona starting on August 5."
