Monterrey thrash Al-Ahly

Marrakech - Monterrey of Mexico have thrashed Egypt's Al-Ahly 5-1 on Wednesday to finish fifth at the FIFA Club World Cup.

Neri Cardozo opened the scoring for the CONCACAF champions after three minutes before Al-Ahly's Emad Meteab equalized in the eighth for the African champions.

But Monterrey rolled over its opponent from there with goals from Cesar Delgado, Leobardo Lopez, and Humberto Suarez helping build a big lead by halftime. Delgado capped the rout with his second in the 65th to become the continental tournament's all-time leading scorer.

Later at the Marrakech Stadium, Ronaldinho looks to guide Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro into Saturday's final against Bayern Munich when it plays Moroccan team Raja Casablanca in the semifinals.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
