Keane returns to national fold

Los Angeles - Forward Robbie Keane will miss the LA Galaxy's next away game against the Columbus Crew so he can play internationally for the Republic of Ireland's national team.

Keane, who is Ireland's captain and all-time leading scorer with 65 international goals, has been included on Ireland's squad for two games in June. Keane will play for Ireland when they face England on Sunday in Dublin and then against Scotland in a UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying match.

His last game with the Galaxy before heading to Europe will be Saturday against the Vancouver Whitecaps in Los Angeles. Columbus plays host to the Galaxy on June 13 at MAPFRE Stadium.

In six Major League Soccer games this year, Keane has two goals and one assist.

In 90 career MLS contests, he has scored 55 goals.
