FIFA block Suarez's unveiling

Cape Town - Barcelona’s newest signing, Uruguay's Luis Suarez, will not be publically unveiled by the club due to his ban for biting.

According to the Soccer Laduma website, the former Liverpool striker is due to complete his move to the Catalan giants over the next few days, but FIFA have blocked the club from staging their usual much-hyped introduction of their £75m signing.

Last season, Neymar drew almost 90 000 people into the Nou Camp for his official unveiling.

Suarez is currently serving a four month ban for biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini at the recently concluded Soccer World Cup.

FIFA's head of media Delia Fischer confirmed: "The ban relates to all football-related activity. He cannot be in a football-related public event irrespective of the venue.

"He cannot even be involved in a football-related charity event.''
