Di Maria wants out of Real

Cape Town - The Mirror have reported that according to Spanish newspaper AS, Real Madrid playmaker Angel Di Maria has asked to leave the club.

The Argentine played a significant role in helping Los Blancos to Champions League triumphant in Portugal in May but feels undervalued at the Spanish giants.

With James Rodriguez admitting recently that he would choose Real Madrid over Barcelona if he were to play in Spain has triggered speculation that he will replace Di Maria.

Manchester United and Arsenal have both been linked to sign the midfielder but will have to fork out €50m to land the player.

Manchester United have already signed two players in the likes of Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera while Arsenal recently released 11 players with Arsene Wenger yet to make additions to his squad.

Manchester is in hot pursuit of Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen with the injury prone defender looking to leave the Gunners’ after falling out of the pecking order behind Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny.

Arsenal opted not to take back former captain Cesc Fabregas with the midfielder signing with Chelsea. The Gunners’ have also been linked with Italian forward Mario Balotelli but Wenger quickly curbed the rumours.

Wenger has his sights on Mathieu Debuchy as Bacary Sagna decided not to renew his contract and join Manchester City.
