De Jong signs for Newcastle

Newcastle - Netherlands international forward Siem de Jong has signed for Newcastle from Dutch champions Ajax.

The English Premier League club confirmed on the move late on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old Swiss-born de Jong moves to Tyneside for an undisclosed fee and has signed a six-year deal at St James' Park.

De Jong came through Ajax's youth system and has won four Dutch titles since making his debut in 2007, taking over the captaincy in 2012.
