Ankle injury annoys Ribery

Berlin - Bayern Munich's French winger Franck Ribery is set to miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury.

The 32-year-old has been out since March 11 and is currently wearing a special shoe to help heal the ankle injury which has ended his season according to German magazine Kicker.

"I am very sad, I've worked so hard for a quick comeback, but the ankle is not getting any better. It pisses me off," Ribery told Kicker.

Bayern's director of sport Matthias Sammer refused to confirm if Ribery's season is over, but he admitted the Frenchman will not play in Tuesday's Champions League semi-final, return leg, with the Germans having been routed 3-0 at Barcelona on Wednesday.

Unless his injury heals rapidly, Ribery will miss Bayern's last three league games against Augsburg, Freiburg and Mainz plus the Barcelona semi-final in Munich.
