Johannesburg - Bongani Khumalo's SuperSport United and Bafana team-mate Morgan Gould has backed the defender to shine at Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp said on Friday that the English Premier League side were confident of concluding a £1.5million deal for the Matsatsantsa star.
The 23-year-old is currently in London for talks with the Champions League side after recently attending a trial at White Hart Lane. He is expected to complete the move when the transfer window opens in January.
And despite facing the stiff task of competing for a starting-spot with Michael Dawson, Ledley King, William Gallas, Younes Kaboul and Sebastien Bassong, Gould is confident Khumalo will make an impact.
"Most definitely, he has the determination that no one else has that I have played with and he is going to definitely do well at Spurs," Gould told Football365.co.za.
"I have no doubt that he will make a success of himself over there."
Gould and Khumalo have formed a formidable partnership in defence as Gavin Hunt's charges have swept to three consecutive league titles and Gould admits his departure would come as a major loss.
"To be honest, it will be a big blow as he was the only player from SuperSport to go to the World Cup.
"His experience would have worked wonders for us if we had him until the end of the season.
"In life we all have dreams and goals and he is going to be living his dream and I am happy for him.
"At SuperSport it is now up to whoever replaces him to put up his hand and show the coach that he wants to play and make a difference in the team.
"I think who ever comes in will have to do what Bongani did and more."
Gould, who has also previously been linked with Spurs, says he has not given up on his dream of securing a move abroad.
"I am not going to give up until I get that side, so lets wait and see what happens."
