Forest: No guarantees Shabba

Johannesburg - Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies has urged Siphiwe Tshabalala not to consider a move to the club as done and dusted.

The Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana winger impressed while on trial with the English Championship club and returned to South Africa in buoyant spirits.

The player revealed his delight at making a positive impression on Davies and his technical team and also suggested he would be joining Forest in June.

His agent Jazzman Mahlakgane told Football365.co.za: "I think Forest were very, very impressed with him. Chiefs will be given their assessment first and shown their intentions before we can start trying to finalise things.

"It would be fantastic move for Siphiwe - Forest have a great history and he would love to be a part of that."

While Tshabalala did not mention having a contract or an agreement with the promotion-chasers to join them in the off-season, South African publications assumed as much - leaving Davies to clear the air on Monday night.

He told BBC Radio Nottingham: "We've looked at him and told him we would monitor his progress.

"And then, depending on the progress, and what situation is, we will review it in the (European) summer - with no guarantees."

Shabba could still make the switch to Forest in June if he stays injury free and Chiefs request a reasonable transfer fee for him.
