Ex-Bafana star returns to SA

Johannesburg - Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Bennett Mnguni has returned to South Africa in the hope of signing off his long career with a local club.

Mnguni has been playing all over the world for the past decade, including Lokomotiv Moscow in Russia and Yangon in Thailand, but at 37 he has returned to his homeland and is a free agent.

The former Bafana Bafana international told the Sowetan: "I have decided to come home to end my career with a bang.

"That's how it got off after I was given the opportunity by Mamelodi Sundowns to turn professional.

"Part of the problem is that I want to be there for my children. I have to take them to school and help with their assignments and homework."

Mnguni, who joined Downs as a teenager in the late 1990's and played for Bafana at the 2002 World Cup, is training with SAB Regional League side Touch FC.
