Eto'o back in Inter colours?

Rome - Cameroon captain Samuel Eto'o has been linked with a move back to Inter Milan, just two months after he left the club in a big-money move to Russian Premier League side Anzhi Makhachkala.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Eto'o has approached Inter about a possible loan move back to the nerazzurri during the Russian winter break, which lasts from November to March.

Eto'o was back in Milan for a visit during the international break and went shopping in Milan's chic commercial area with his wife.

The newspaper claims he could sign a loan deal similar to the one that brought David Beckham to AC Milan during the Major League Soccer (MLS) off-season in the United States.

It says Eto'o could play for two months in January and February once the transfer window opens again on January 2 before returning to his club Anzhi for the start of the new Russian season on March 3.

However, La Gazzetta also claims, perhaps hopefully, that the deal would cost Inter nothing.

Eto'o moved to Anzhi on a salary reported to be 20-million euros a year, a sum Inter could not afford.

But La Gazzetta claims that Anzhi owner Suleyman Kerimov wouldn't expect Inter to pay the 30-year-old's salary during the loan period as he's so rich it wouldn't make any difference to him anyway.

Billionaire Kerimov is listed by the sports daily as the 118th richest man in the world.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
