Zlatan backs Sweden star for United

Cape Town - Manchester United superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes that Benfica and Sweden centre-back Victor Lindelof is good enough to play for any top side, including the Red Devils.

United are a reportedly in talks to bring in Lindelof on a deal worth in the region of £38m. Lindelof has 11 international caps for Sweden and is regarded as one of Europe's most talented young defenders.

Ibrahimovic said: "He (Lindelof) is growing. He has a lot of responsibility with the national team now. Is he good enough for United? I think he is ready for the big clubs out there.

"It is up to him what he wants and what the situation says. Whatever he chooses, it will be good for him. I know he is hot on the market so let him make the right choice for him."

It's thought that manager Jose Mourinho is looking to bolster his defence and sees Lindelof as the long-term partner of Eric Bailly. Both players are 22 and are highly rated in the game.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
