Cape Town - Watford
boss Marco Silva has used his connections at former club Sporting CP to
acquire the signature of Marvin Zeegelaar on transfer deadline day.
The 27-year-old left-back spent just one season at Estadio Jose Alvalade, although his performances for the Lions earned him a first call-up to the Netherlands national team in 2016.
Zeegelaar made 20 appearances in the Primeira Liga last term as the Lisbon outfit finished third to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, where he featured five times in the competition last time around.
The Ajax youth product has joined the Hornets on a four-year deal reportedly in the region of £3 million - making it his second stint in England after a brief stay with Blackpool in 2013.
He becomes the ninth arrival at Vicarage Road during the current transfer window as the club look to survive the Premier League for a third year in succession.
