Zabaleta attracting interest from Roma

Cape Town - The agent of Manchester City full-back Pablo Zabaleta has revealed his client is attracting interest from Serie A outfit Roma ahead of the off-season transfer window.

It remains to be seen whether the 31-year-old is part of incoming manager Pep Guardiola's plans for the 2016/17 Premier League campaign, but that hasn't stopped the Giallorossi from enquiring about his availability.

However, Roma are not the only interested party, with Roberto Mancini said to be keen on being reunited with the Argentina international at Inter.

Commenting on Roma's interest, Zabaleta's agent, Federico Pastorello, told CGR website: "It's true, Roma are very interested in Zabaleta and it is an interest that has been going for quite a while.

"We'll see what happens over the next few weeks, but his move to Italy is possible."

Zabaleta has suffered an injury-disrupted season, making just 13 appearances in the Premier League and a further three in the Champions League.

He faces another spell on the treatment table after it was confirmed he will undergo ankle surgery in the coming days, ruling him out of action for Argentina's Copa America campaign.
