Will red-hot Spurs’ streak end here?

Cape Town - Second-placed Tottenham are in a rich vein of form and scoring goals for fun in the English Premiership.

Three of their last four matches have seen Spurs hit the net four times; that looks like a title-contention statement, doesn’t it?

But on Saturday evening, away, they run into a Manchester City side smarting from a rare 3-0 drubbing at Everton and also as many as 10 points shy of leaders Chelsea.

Two of the Sport24 tipsters see City, driven by urgency, redeeming themselves with a win ... although all results are offered on what could be an end-to-end thriller.

Each round of the 2016/17 Premiership campaign, a group of our staff has a crack at predicting the results - do the exercise yourself, if you like, and see how you compare afterwards.

Compiled by Rob Houwing (Newcastle-partial; he swears the Championship is more competitive), the others are Garrin Lambley (Everton), Lloyd Burnard, Tashreeq Vardien, Maano Nekhavhambe and Lynn Butler (all Man Utd) plus Craig Taylor (Liverpool).

Three points are awarded for an entirely correct scoreline, and one for right result.

Yes! Siya will only be 36 at the next World Cup. He can make it!

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
