West Brom sign Toffees defender

Cape Town - West Brom have announced the signing of Everton defender Brendan Galloway on a season-long loan.

Baggies boss Tony Pulis has been in dire need of reinforcements, with Matt Phillips the club's only previous summer signing.

Pulis has said he wants as many as five new faces at the club, and has started the recruitment process by bringing in highly-rated 20-year-old left-back Galloway.

Speaking upon his arrival at West Brom, Galloway told the club's official website: "I’m delighted. It’s a great club and I’m really looking forward to getting started.

"My aims are to play and work hard for the team and help win as many matches as I can, it’s all about winning.

"I think for me personally, it’s really important to gain more experience. Coming here is the perfect opportunity to do that.

"I can’t wait to get started and put the shirt on."

Galloway, who began his career with MK Dons, joined the Toffees in 2014 on a five-year deal and went on to feature 17 times last term after impressing in the Under 21 team.

Pulis, who saw his side lose 2-1 to Everton in the Premier League on Saturday, was quoted after the match as saying: "We have 10 days to do some business and fingers crossed we will.

"We don’t need back-ups, we need people who will go in the team and make a difference and then it will filter down."
