Cape Town - Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores has hailed his "amazing couple" Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo's partnership following the FA Cup win over Arsenal while he also praised Adlene Guedioura.

After going through a bit of a goal slump, Ighalo was back in the goals on Sunday as he scored the opener in the 2-1 victory over the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium.

Deeney, though, was instrumental as he knocked down the ball for his strike partner and Nigerian forward Ighalo did the rest with a smart turn and finish.

"The telepathy between the players, when Deeney touches it, Ighalo knows where the ball is going - they are an amazing couple for us," the Watford boss told BBC Sport.

Algerian international Guedioura then put the visitors 2-0 ahead with a sweet strike after being set up by Deeney again.

Flores added: "Guedioura represents the behavior of our players very well. He has not played a lot, but he kept working hard and now has the prize. We have a very strong unit, and sometimes we need to remember we are a squad and doing something important this year.

"I feel fantastic, I'm really happy for the players and the fans. They follow us and it is an amazing prize for them."

Meanwhile, Guedioura was also full of praise for the manager after the Spaniard led them to the semi-finals with a good game plan.

"All week the manager tried to explain that it would be like this and with the plan we had, it was fine," he said. "We worked hard until the end of the game and hopefully we go further than the semi-final. It will be a great day for the fans."
