Tipsters at odds for Anfield sizzler

Cape Town - There is a certain, unashamed partiality toward Manchester United on the Sport24 desk... but even that lobby are mostly hesitant to predict a Red Devils victory in their massive Anfield clash with Liverpool on Monday night.

Only one opts for a three-point raid (1-0) by the away side, which would be in line with last season’s score-line there between the bitter rivals … the recently much-discussed Wayne Rooney made all the difference with a late strike in January.

Majority pick, and perhaps the safest option, is for a share of the spoils, although there are also takers for a ‘Pool triumph.

Each round of the 2016/17 Premiership campaign, a group of our staff has a crack at predicting the results - do the exercise yourself, if you like, and see how you compare afterwards.

Compiled by Rob Houwing (Newcastle-partial; he swears the Championship is more competitive), the others are Garrin Lambley (Everton), Lloyd Burnard, Tashreeq Vardien, Maano Nekhavhambe and Lynn Butler (all Man Utd) plus Craig Taylor (Liverpool).

Three points are awarded for an entirely correct scoreline, and one for right result.
