Sturridge doesn't regret West Brom spell

Cape Town - Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge insists he gained valuable experience from his loan spell at West Brom despite their relegation from the Premier League.

The 28-year-old joined the Baggies on loan in January this year but only made six Premier League appearances and failed to find the back of the net in those games.

A hamstring injury was largely to blame for his shortage of minutes on the pitch, but Sturridge believes the time he spent at the Hawthorns helped him grow as a footballer and a person.

"It was good. I don't regret anything," Sturridge told reporters. "The experience made me grow as a person. That is what it is all about - evolving as a man, evolving as a footballer.

"From the outside looking in, you can also improve. When you are on the inside looking out, you sometimes don't get to see what you have to do to get to the next level - how you need to change your game.

"When you are on the inside, you don't see it. When you are on the outside, you can assess things differently."
