Cape Town - Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko is convinced that the club can pick up wins and avoid relegation if they put in put in the hard work.
The Magpies are 17th in the Premier League standings, just one points above the drop zone with two games left to play, and the Frenchman says confidence is high after last weekend's 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.
"A tough game but I think we showed some character," the France international said. "We played well, showed some team spirit and we have more confidence now.
"We've got two games before the end of the season now and we will do everything to win those games."
Newcastle take on rock-bottom Aston Villa in their penultimate game this coming Saturday, before finishing the campaign at home to second place Tottenham.
"We know that this season has been very hard for us, for the fans, for the city, for everyone," Sissoko added.
"We need to stay focused on our job and we have another game on Saturday against Villa. We know they are already relegated but I think in front of their fans they will try everything to win the game.
"We will go there to fight, to come back with the three points. We want to stay in the Premier League, so we need to give everything and win the game."
