Cape Town - Stoke City have confirmed that veteran defender Ryan Shawcross has signed a new four-year contract with the Premier League club.
The 29-year-old's current contract at the Potters was due to run out at the end of the season but he has committed himself to the club until 2021.
The centre-back is in his 10th season at Stoke after originally moving to the club on loan from Manchester United before making the move permanent.
Stoke revealed via their official Twitter account: “#SCFC are delighted to announce that skipper Ryan Shawcross has signed a new four-year contract, committing him to the club until at least 2021.”
Shawcross has been ever-present for the Potters throughout his spell and made 35 Premier League appearances last season. He has racked up 385 games for the club across all competitions.
