Manchester - Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly weighing up the possibility of allowing Morgan Schneiderlin to join Marseille, with Lassana Diarra moving to Old Trafford as part of the deal.
Mourinho is said to be a keen admirer of the France international's talents since his time with the defensive midfielder at Chelsea and Real Madrid.
And with Schneiderlin seeking first-team football, the opportunity of having a ready-made replacement to add value to The Red Devils squad, seems like an ideal scenario.
West Bromwich Albion and Everton have seen bids rejected for the former Southampton star, with United holding out for the £24million valuation of the 27-year-old.
However, with recent reports in French publication Foot Mercato, the proposed swap deal with the France midfielder seems like a likely proposition, with Diarra keen to test himself in the English top-flight again.
The 31-year-old would add depth to the English giants' midfield alongside Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba.
With Michael Carrick reaching the end of his career, Schneiderlin and Marouane Fellaini have clearly not won the Portuguese tactician over, with their inability to control possession in the tactical set-up the former Chelsea boss wants.
