Cape Town - Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is eager to return to playing as quickly as possible after successful surgery to a hernia injury.
The Danish stopper had to be replaced by Ron-Robert Zieler in the 2-1 win over Swansea on Saturday after feeling discomfort following a clearance during the game.
Schmeichel had been scheduled to have an operation on the problem during the international break but, with his country in crucial World Cup qualifying matches, the Leicester stopper is naturally keen to be involved.
Denmark play Liechtenstein in an international friendly on Wednesday before taking on Armenia in their opening 2018 World Cup qualifying clash.
Schmeichel, who posted a picture of himself giving the thumbs-up from his hospital bed, wrote on his Twitter account: "Operation went well. Recovery starts now. I'll do everything in my power to be fit for our game vs Armenia on Sunday."
