Schlupp thriving under Allardyce guidance

Cape Town - Ghana international Jeffrey Schlupp says that the guidance of Sam Allardyce is one of the reasons he joined relegation-threatened Crystal Palace.

After winning the Premier League title last season with Leicester City, the 24-year-old joined the Eagles in January looking for more game time, and the chance to work under Big Sam is an added bonus for him.

"Everyone was aware of what he achieved before he joined and was a key reason for me coming here," Schlupp told his club’s official website.

"He sends us out onto the pitch with a game plan that we have been working on in training and our results prove that it is working.

"We do a lot out on the training pitch regarding our shape and he works with us as a defensive group and we have been doing a lot of work on that."

Schlupp was in the team for Wednesday’s 3-1 loss to Southampton, and will likely feature in Monday’s meeting with Arsenal.

Kick off is at 21:00.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
