Reds win at Blues? No way, Jose

Cape Town - Jose Mourinho’s emotion-charged return to Stamford Bridge on Sunday, albeit to the visitors’ dressing room as Manchester United boss, may do relatively little to banish his recent scowl.

So suggest our resident pundits over the big Premiership clash, with minimal support for a Red Devils all-three-points raid: the overwhelming tip is a stalemate, meaning United would have gone three games in the league without tasting victory.

Last season’s two clashes, remember, both ended with honours even - it was 1-1 in London and goalless up in the north-west.

Chelsea are under a bit less current pressure, sporting wins from each of their last two fixtures (Leicester and Hull).

Each round of the 2016/17 Premiership campaign, a group of our staff has a crack at predicting the results - do the exercise yourself, if you like, and see how you compare afterwards.

Compiled by Rob Houwing (Newcastle-partial; he swears the Championship is more competitive), the others are Garrin Lambley (Everton), Lloyd Burnard, Tashreeq Vardien, Maano Nekhavhambe and Lynn Butler (all Man Utd) plus Craig Taylor (Liverpool).

Three points are awarded for an entirely correct scoreline, and one for right result.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
