Ranieri confirms N'Zonzi rumours

Cape Town - While Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has refused to go into detail about reports linking the club with Steven N'Zonzi, he did confirm that they are true.

Despite N'Zonzi leaving Stoke City and joining Sevilla a mere 12 months ago, the midfielder, who played a part in the Rojiblancos' successful Europa League campaign, has been linked with a move back to the Premier League.

The Foxes are expected to activate the player's £25m release-clause in an effort to bolster a midfield that lost a key player in N'Golo Kante during the current transfer window.

"I confirm the speculation," the Italian manager told reporters.

"Look for me, it is important to coach these players and to improve these players. I speak only about my player and not the other players."

The Premier League champions signed Nampalys Mendy to fill the gap left by Kante but the Frenchman is yet to play a full match for his new team, having suffered an ankle injury on his debut for the Foxes.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
