Cape Town - Former Barcelona captain Carles Puyol believes that Pep Guardiola's arrival at Manchester City will improve the standard of the entire Premier League.
The Citizens officially unveiled their new coach on Sunday despite the fact the news of his takeover was first announced way back in February.
Boasting one of the most impressive resume's in world football after trophy-laden stints with both Barcelona and Bayern, Guardiola will be looking to bring the same levels of success during his tenure with City.
"I think he is going to do a great job. He has been a great coach for us. I appreciated working with him," Puyol said.
"I think he is going to be an asset for the Premier League, although I don't know the Premier League (as well)."
The 45-year-old's arrival adds an extra ingredient to what promises to be an exhilarating 2016/17 Premier League campaign, with some of the best managers in the world in the form of Jose Mourinho, Guardiola, Arsene Wenger, Antonio Conte and Jurgen Klopp all set to do battle this coming season.
