Pulis calls for more signings

Cape Town - West Bromwhich Albion manager Tony Pulis says he needs more recruits after Tuesday’s League Cup win over Accrington Stanley.

Pulis fielded a strong team as the Baggies swept to a 3-1 win over their League Two opposition, but the coach is now worried about a lack of squad depth.

"It's the only team we've got," he said after the match.

"If you look at it we've only got (Gareth) McAuley injured and back at the ground and Hal [Robson-Kanu] who's suspended.

"People around this club, including the chairman, know we need to get some players in.

"We've got 10 days to do it but we really need to fill quite a few areas of the squad to compete in the Premier League.

"We've got to start doing some business and I'm hoping it's not frantic, I'm hoping to get them in before the weekend."

The Baggies have made a fine start to their Premier League campaign with back-to-back 1-0 wins from their opening two matches, and they face Stoke City at the Hawthorns on Sunday.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
