Cape Town - The
long-running transfer saga surrounding midfielder Paul Pogba shows no
signs of abating after the France international told a fan that he would
stay at Juventus.
The 23-year-old's future has been the subject of fevered speculation since the conclusion of the 2015/16 Serie A campaign, with Real Madrid and Manchester United strongly credited with an interest in the player.
Real have seemingly dropped their interest in the player amidst reports claiming that United had agreed a world-record fee of over £100m. This after Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane revealed his admiration for Pogba.
However, it seems Pogba's future is anything but certain, especially after the midfielder told a fan in the United States that he would be staying with the Old Lady.
"Paul, are you going to stay?", the American Juventus fan asked Pogba, to which the player responded, "yes".
Pogba's one-word answer did not convince the fan, though, who repeated the question. "yeah?! At Juventus?", the fan asked. Pogba again said, "yes".
The news of Pogba's interaction with the fan has sparked fresh doubts over his proposed return to Manchester United, after reports in the English press suggested that confirmation of his move to Old Trafford was 'a matter of hours' away.
