Pereira set to leave United on loan

Cape Town - Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira has reportedly joined Eredivisie side Utrecht on a season-long loan.

The Belgian-born Brazilian international, who signed for the Red Devils in 2014, spent last season on loan with Granada.

His impressive performances appeared to have secured him a place at United this season, but having been left out of the club's squads for their opening games of the season, it now seems as if the former PSV Eindhoven man's immediate future does not lie at Old Trafford.

According to Dutch publication AD, Utrecht, who are coached by Erik ten Hag, are close to finalising a deal.

Pereira, who made 13 appearances for the United first team, knows Ten Hag well from his time at the PSV Eindhoven academy, and is expected to replace the departing Yassin Ayoub at the club.

United next travel to the Bet365 Stadium to face Stoke City in an English Premiership clash on September 9 with Mourinho's men looking to continue their winning form.

Kick off is at 18:30.
