Oscar: Conte's very clear about what he wants

Cape Town - Oscar has revealed that he is raring to go following his first training session under new Chelsea coach Antonio Conte, whom he believes will drastically improve the team.

Speaking to the club's official site, the Brazil international midfielder admitted it was good to be back in action following a much-needed holiday.

"I watched a lot of football during my time off. I saw the Copa America, Euros and some Brazilian matches," Oscar said.

"I was impressed with Antonio Conte's Italy at the Euros, they played very well and were unlucky to lose on penalties to a good Germany team.

"I missed playing and I'm glad to be back. We are all training really hard and looking forward to the pre-season matches. Training has been very hard because it was a long break for me. But that's what pre-season is all about, getting fit for the matches."

The 24-year-old, who made 40 appearances for the Blues in all competitions last season, expects the London club to be tactically superior under Conte next season, following the Italian's first training session at Cobham.

"I really liked [the first session] and I think the team are really going to improve a lot this season. [Conte's] very clear about what he wants from us.

"He spoke to everyone and it was very tactical with some good movements from the players," he concluded.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
