Oddo backs Lapadula's Leicester move

Cape Town - Leicester City's interest in Serie B top-scorer Gianluca Lapadula has been confirmed by Pescara manager Massimo Oddo, who also endorses his potential move to England.

Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri's ability to get the best out of relatively unknown players was illustrated this season as he made a squad valued at a mere £55 million into Premier League champions.

Now the Italian has turned his eyes to his home country's second tier, identifying Lapadula as a player who could help his side defend their trophy next season.

The 26-year-old forward has found the net 24 times in 38 appearances for the Delfini and has reportedly also attracted interest from Scudetto winners Juventus.

Despite his importance to the club, Oddo has stated that he feels Lapadula would be suited to the English game and confirmed that several European clubs are keeping tabs on the player's situation.

"He confirmed in Serie B what he had already done in Lega Pro," Oddo told Football-Italia. "If Leicester are tracking him, then that is pleasing.

"I think he is suited to the Premier League. Mind you, other clubs are looking for him, too."
