Liverpool - Belgium-based striker Henry Onyekuru, reportedly a target for several European clubs, says Liverpool have shown interest in him.
The 19-year-old Nigerian helped his club Eupen win promotion to the Belgian top flight last season and has now bagged 10 goals in 21 matches in the current campaign.
The Onitsha-born forward has previously been linked with Scottish team Celtic, as well as French Ligue 1 side Nice, Russian outfit CSKA Moscow and Turkish giants Fenerbache.
Onyekuru now claims that Liverpool have also made enquiries.
"My agency, Macato Agency, informed me Liverpool have shown interest in me. I am glad a big team like Liverpool too have showed interest in me," Onyekuru told AfricanFootball.
However, he also claims that his club are trying to force him to move to Russia for their own benefit, and has reportedly gone AWOL from training recently.
"Eupen are acting funny on my transfer," the marksman said. "They are frustrating me and my agent for their own interest.
"They promised to let me move in January if I have a good offer, now there are good offers but they now want me to sign for their own agent, before I move and they want me to sign for CSKA Moscow which I am not interested in."
