Mustafi completes Arsenal move

Cape Town - Arsenal have announced the signing of German centre-back Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia.

The 24-year-old World Cup winner started his youth career in England with Everton before moving to Italian side Sampdoria for two seasons in 2012.

He left Serie A in 2014 to sign for Valencia and managed two goals from 24 La Liga appearances last season.

The much-anticipated completion of the deal makes Mustafi Arsenal's sixth signing in the off-season after Lucas Perez, Granit Xhaka, and youngsters Rob Holding, Takuma Asano and Kelechi Nwakali.

"He is at the right age. He has good experience," said Gunners manager Arsene Wenger of his latest recruit.

"He is a very focused player who can play with the ball as well. We have taken a great player but have prepared well for the future."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
