Moyes slaps £30 million price tag on Pickford

Cape Town - Sunderland boss David Moyes says the club would consider selling highly-rated goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

The 23-year-old was a pillar of strength for the Black Cats, and was often their best player as the club fought, ultimately unsuccessfully against relegation.

And now, speaking ahead of his side's final Premier League clash of the season against Champions Chelsea, Moyes has said it would take a hefty sum to praise the England U21 player, who won a first senior England call-up in October, away from the club.

A number of clubs including Everton are said to be interested in the young goalkeeper.

Moyes said: "It would need to be a really, really big offer.

"I have said all through the season that sometimes on your journey, you may have to sell to improve.

"But I have heard some really derisory sort of figures getting mentioned, and it wouldn't be any of those figures, I can tell you that."

In response to whether Pickford could cost as much as £30m, Moyes replied: "Yes."

The only other goalkeeper to have cost more than £30m's was Gianluigi Buffon when he signed for £33m when he joined Juventus from Parma.
