Mourinho: Touchline ban didn't affect me

London - Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho claims being forced to watch their 3-1 win over Swansea on Sunday from the stands didn't change his match-day experience.

Mourinho was not pitch-side for his side's first win in five matches after he was given a one-game ban for misconduct.

However, the Red Devils boss revealed after the game that the ban didn't affect his ability to do his job, as he was able to communicate his instructions.

"I did what I do," he commented after the game. "I made the changes, sent a message when something needs to be told to the team, and I was in the dressing room before the game and at half-time.

"One thing is the suspension that stops the manager to communicate, that is a problem.

"Another thing is the suspension when the manager can communicate with the team, see the team and speak to the assistants on the bench. So in this case it was not a problem."
